Fluxo beat paiN to win CCT South America Series 1

The newcomers to CS:GO have secured their attendance at the South American LAN finals.
Fluxo came out victorious from CCT South America Series 1 after taking down paiN 2-0 in the grand final of the event. Both teams were directly invited to the playoffs of the online tournament and only dropped a map each on their way to the final.
Willian "Xamp" Caldas' squad claimed the first spot in the South American studio LAN set to take place in early 2023. Three more teams will qualify as more online events take place in the region over the course of the next six months.

The tournament started off with a group stage consisting of 16 teams battling it in a Swiss-style rumble from which only eight advanced to the knockout bracket. From there, they each faced one of the squads directly invited to the playoffs in a classic best-of-three, single-elimination bracket.
The Union and Daotsu were the teams that advanced undefeated through the group stage while Isurus came back from two opening defeats to qualify for the next phase with a 3-2 record. Meta, Stars Horizon, WINDINGO, Redragon, and SWS rounded up the list of advancing teams.

Sharks and Corinthians were the only teams directly invited to the playoffs that failed to advance to the second round of the bracket following defeats to Isurus and Meta respectively. The Argentinian squad featuring Ignacio "meyern" Meyer only made it so far as the quarter-final before being stopped by ODDIK.
00NATION came into the event as the highest-ranked team and favorites to walk away with the title, however, they had to forfeit the quarter-final match against Fluxo due to travel obligations. The default victory meant Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato's men walked into the semi-final against ODDIK, defeating their fellow Brazilians to take a spot in the final.

Fluxo were joined in the grand final by paiN. Vinicios "PKL" Coelho's squad secured its spot in the last match thanks to victories over Daotsu, Meta, and 9z in the playoffs. The match went the way of Fluxo as they defeated paiN on Ancient (16-8) and Inferno (16-8) to take the spot in next year's studio LAN and $11,000.
João "felps" Vasconcellos was the standout player for Fluxo as the 25-year-old rifler averaged a 1.26 rating and a fantastic 1.43 impact rating across the seven maps played by his team.
